Flameshielde Maxi Fire Doors

The Flameshielde Maxi Fire Door is manufactured to a nominal thickness of 47 mm to suit many different commercial and industrial applications.

Available in the standard timber faced door finishes, as well as the Metalshielde (Metalclad) and Rayshielde (Lead Lined) and Germshielde (Hygiene) doors. Please see the relevant sections for more information relating to these door options.

The Flameshielde Maxi Fire Door is constructed for heavy use such as found in industrial and commercial situations. Also suited to residential type situations such as hotels and apartments where the doors are required to perform at higher security levels or to achieve improved sound attenuation properties.

The Flameshielde Maxi Fire Door as achieved up to a 4 hour rating when tested in accordance to AS 1530.4-1997 & AS 1530.4-2005

Metal Frames

Notes applicable to this approval.

  1. Door finished thickness nominal 47 mm
  2. Metal frame rebate size – 50 mm x 25 mm.
  3. Approved for use in masonry, plasterboard partition walls.
  4. Approved for timber mouldings of any size up to 20 mm high x 40 mm wide.
  5. Approved for up to 1 hour fire rating moulded panel HDF fire door (FCO-2668 – tested in accordance with AS 1530.4-1997).
  6. Approved for up to 1 hour fire rated doorset faced with 6.0 mm thick MDF or faced with 5 – 6 mm thick MDF followed by an external facing of 0.5 – 1.0 mm thick decorative veneer (FCO-2772 – tested in accordance with AS 1530.4-1997).
  7. A fire retardant treated plywood is required for 3 – 4-hour fire rated doorset.
  8. Approved for FRL of -/120/30 on maximum clearance of 20 mm between the bottom of the door leaf and the top of the non-combustible sill (FCO-2942).
  9. Minimum hinge requirement – 3 hinges.
  10. Hardware to be approved for TVC-Core Maxi (Flameshielde Maxi) fire door.
  11. Steel frame to be backfilled with concrete or mortar into Masonry wall, plasterboard strips & plaster into Plasterboard wall.
  12. Complies with AS 1905.1-2005 and tested in accordance with AS 1530.4-1997 & AS 1530.4.2005.

  3. Approved for use in masonry and plasterboard partition walls.
  4. Minimum Hinge requirements - 3 hinges.
  5. Hardware to be approved for TVC-Core Maxi (Flameshielde Maxi) fire door.
  6. The minimum overlap of the face steel sheeting and the perimeter channel is 15 mm.
  7. The PVA glue used to adhere the plywood to the core and the contact glue to adhere the steel sheet to the plywood.
  8. The perimeter steel channel is to be fixed to the face steel sheeting with pop rivets at minimum 500 mm centres.
  9. Steel frame to be backfilled with concrete or mortar into Masonry wall, plasterboard strips and plaster into Plasterboard wall.
  10. Complies with AS1905.1-2005 and tested in accordance with AS 1530.4-1997 & AS 1530.4-2005.

NOTE: Steel Sheet Cladding – Requirement.

  1. The minimum size of up to 2.0 mm zincanneal (galvanised or stainless steel) steel sheets are 20 mm less than the sizes of the door leaf.
  2. The zincanneal (galvanised or stainless steel) steel channels, nominally 25 mm x 48 mm x 25 mm up to 2.0 mm thick, be capped to the four edges of the door leaf and the minimum overlapping with zincanneal (galvanised or stainless steel) steel sheet facing about 15 mm.
  3. The channel along the four edges of the door leaf be fixed to the zincanneal (galvanised or stainless steel) steel sheet facing with steel pop rivets at 500 mm centres.
  4. The plywood is flame retardant treated plywood.

The Flameshielde Maxi Double Fire Doors are manufactured to a nominal thickness of 47 mm to suit many different commercial, medical and industrial applications. Suited to areas where trolleys and other large items frequently pass through the doorway.

Standard profile fire-rated metal door frames may be used for double fire doors.
